This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The population of students that attend my school are mainly high poverty children. Their parents are predominantly low income, and hard working people. Some of my students live only with their mothers and siblings renting a room in a house. My students are enrolled in the Pre-K For All program at the school that I teach in. I have 18, 4-year-old students. I also have a teacher's assistant. My students are very eager to learn. They come in every day with a smile on their face ready to learn.
My Project
I would love to have a vacuum cleaner for my classroom. Even though the custodians say they will clean the floors and vacuum the rugs, I can tell it wasn't vacuumed. The floors are still dirty. I get it, they do have a large building to clean and so I would like to help them in any way I can. With this vacuum that some generous donors can fund, I can keep my room tip top shape. Even today, I walked into my classroom and I could see that the old rug was vacuumed but the floor was dirty despite the memo from the custodian stating over the holiday break, floors would be cleaned.
