Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I believe that every student should walk into a well-stocked classroom where they will always have the supplies to create, learn, and explore new ideas.
Welcome to a Third grade, bilingual classroom full of hard-working, enthusiastic students!
My bilingual classroom is the landing spot for Third graders who have just arrived in the United States. My students are incredibly hard workers who always come to school ready to learn, no matter what is going on outside of the classroom. My goal as a teacher is to provide my students with all that they need to be successful learners.
My Project
One of the most important parts of any teacher's supply list is cleaning products. When students have a runny nose, it is a must to have tissues on hand. When there is a spill, we run for paper towels that we hope are still hiding in the back of the closet. When students desks become covered in pencil, marker and glue, a Clorox wipe is the first thing they reach for to keep their learning space clean. However, I have noticed that for many families in our low-income community, cleaning supplies are often the most expensive part of the supply list.
Having tissues, paper towels, wipes and other cleaning supplies on Day 1 will allow my students to thrive in a clean, healthy classroom and ease some of the financial burden of back-to-school shopping.
For my students, these supplies don't just represent a clean, healthy classroom. They also help my students learn valuable life lessons that allow them to become healthy adults. These supplies help teach lessons as simple as learning how to clean a spill without wasting paper towels, when to wash our hands, and how often we should clean so that germs don't spread and get us sick. With your support, my students will be welcomed back to a classroom full of cleaning supplies and have a strong start to a healthy school year!
