My Students
My classroom is a wonderful place filled with hard working students and staff. Every day, I fall just a little bit more in love with their amazing hearts and smiles. Each child has an individual education plan to help them make progress on goals in functional academics, behavior, life skills, communication, and/or functional life skills.
My students are full of curiosity, energy, and incredible potential.
We focus on the positive and celebrate every success that they achieve. Each day I do my best to make sure that they have the necessary tools to succeed, but it takes a lot of equipment and materials to help meet their unique needs.
With the help of DonorsChoose.org, I am able to provide unique and engaging materials to help my students, who experience a variety of disabilities, overcome their challenges and let their abilities shine through.
My Project
This project contains materials that will help my students learn important life skills such as how to keep your environment clean as well as providing snacks to get them through the day.
I feel it is so important for my special education classroom to be a place that students feel welcome and want to take ownership of their own space.
We'll use the vacuum, dishwashing soap, mop and sponges to teach them daily living skills that they can do at home as well as school. They'll learn to tidy up the classroom and take pride in their workspace. With the hand soap and wipes they will have options to keep their hands and desks clean.
We also could use some snacks to help them get through the long school day. Our students love pretzels, graham crackers, fruit snacks, popcorn, goldfish crackers, and Cheez Its.
