Help me give my students diapers/wipes when they run out, a way to preserve artwork, and disinfectant wipes to minimize the spread of germs. Floor chairs with back support to work at the same level as the children.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My classroom consists of children with disabilities ages 3-5 years old and there are times when they run out of pull-ups and wipes. I’m hoping to get these items through this project to use during such times to keep them dry and clean. In addition, the disinfectant wipes will help me continue to provide a healthy environment and decrease the spread of illnesses which will lessen absences. Many of my students are still learning to not mouth on toys, cover their mouths when they cough or sneeze, and wash their hands frequently. When they are sick, it often takes them longer to get better, which takes away from their learning.
We are also in need of a replacement trampoline cover as the one we have is broken and unable to be sanitized as it is no longer impermeable.
The children in my care learn best when they get frequent movement breaks. The floor chairs allow the teachers to have back support when holding children during group activities and patting their backs at naptime. Fine motor skills are increased through art and we are in need of refreshed art materials. The children learn best when their sensory needs are met so often they need to reset by jumping on the trampoline.
