This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach kindergarten to some of the hardest working five and six year olds around! They love to learn and get their hands dirty. My students live in an extremely low-income area which often limits their exposure to life experiences. Because of this, I try to bring as many real-life discoveries into our classroom that I can. My students take on every challenge head-on and would love to have a science-based classroom!

My students work really hard to achieve our classroom goals, I want to make sure they have everything they need to be successful.

That includes having the support and resources they need to help them build their love for fitness and education!

My Project

My students are surprisingly involved with many after school activities. Some of them attend latch key (childcare), some to green thumb club (gardening), drama, ELL (English) classes, hugs(tutoring), AAU basketball, soccer, football, wrestling and more! It's no wonder why they have a hard time keeping all the things they need for the day together.

My goal was to be able to provide bags for students that attend after school activities.

I think it will help them be able to keep track of things needed for school and things needed after. I know teachers don't want to have their books covered in sweaty sports equipment just as much as coaches don't want their equipment covered and markers from the day. Thank you for considering my project!
