My Students
We are an urban school with a large shelter (homeless and/or domestic violence) population. We have a very high mobility rate and rarely have a student who has gone to our building for grades kindergarten through seventh. This means we have students with a massive range of skills and experiences.
As a staff, we know that our students can succeed if given the opportunity.
We provide a wide range of services including food, clothing, and school supplies, pantry, health care services, and tutoring, both during and after school.
My Project
We do many activities where we need to be very interactive. By interactive, I mean that we have our notebooks organized into sections to help keep our thinking and learning in an orderly way so we can easily access any information we need. By doing this, it takes a lot of materials to keep us organized.
"Tell me and I forget, Teach me and I remember, Involve me and I learn," Benjamin Franklin.
In one of our notebook sections, we have task cards that we glue into our notebooks and fill out based on the books that we read. The folders that contain our task cards are falling apart. We are in desperate need of more durable pocket folders to hold them. Because we glue them into our notebooks and have to fill in the sections, our glue and pencil supply has run very low as well.
Please help us become better organized so we can show off all our learning in our notebooks.
