My students absolutely love to draw and color. That is the first thing we do in my Art classroom. Starting the year, students create their own sketchbooks by designing the covers with details all about them. These starter projects always use basic Art supplies, especially washable markers. As we move through the year, markers become the most used supply.
Keeping a supply of the basics such as Crayola Broad Line Washable Markers is essential for moving students between Art projects in my classroom.
Whether students are sketching plans in their sketchbooks, creating miniature works of art to include in their Mini-Museum Project, or creating their own free-drawing to have a mindful moment during the day, markers are the number one choice for all of my students. Of course, the first choice supply is usually the first to go. Caps are lost, markers dry out, favorite colors get used up quickly. It is important to me to keep a steady supply of this most basic Art material in my classroom.
