My Students
My students are cool and we want to stay cool, but our classroom is too hot!
My school is a Title 1 school in a suburb that borders the city of Detroit .
We have a very transient population due to the many rentals in the neighborhood. In addition to having a transient student population, we also have students who come from homes where English is a second language.
Despite the many challenges my students face on a daily basis, they are eager to learn and want to take everything in! I see students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade for science enrichment.
My Project
I am requesting 2 floor fans and 2 pedestal fans to help maintain a comfortable temperature in our classroom. Our school is a beautiful, older building built in the 1930s. I teach science enrichment on the third floor of our school--that means it can get really hot!
New fans would be placed around the classroom and near students to maximize air flow. The new fans will help provide a comfortable environment for the students to learn. Students can focus on learning and not worry about how hot it is when we are conducting experiments.
By having these four new fans, the students will be able to stay cool throughout the day.
I will have a practical way to keep the classroom cooler and more comfortable. It will help the students stay focused and on task. Having fans in the classroom will make such a difference for our learning environment. Thank you for your support!
