Keeping Calm in Kindergarten!

My Students

Each morning, I begin the day welcoming a class full of bright, smiling, and eager students into my Kindergarten classroom. They come from a variety of backgrounds, ethnicities, and socioeconomic statuses, coming together to create a diverse classroom community where we learn something new from each other each day!

My goal is to create a fun, loving environment where students can develop a passion for learning, and acceptance and love for themselves.

Kindergarten is such a fun and special time, and it's important my students have the tools they need to succeed.

My Project

Emotional regulation is a key component to being able to learn. Kindergarten is the perfect place to not only introduce these important concepts, but to guide children in recognizing and managing their own emotions.

Now more than ever, students need help identifying and processing their emotions and feelings.

The box sets of Little Spot books will be used by me to introduce these concepts to students. The cushions, posters, books, and various sensory toys will be used to create a calm down corner that will be available to students when they need a little break.

The set of bags is easy to clean, and will come in handy since students all need to be using their own supplies. This will help me ensure each student has the tools to help them succeed.
