This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
At our Title I school, almost all of my students are second language learners. Their drive to learn and achieve is amazing.
My classroom is full of learners and future leaders.
My students are the face of the United States of America. Some were born in this country to English speaking parents. Some were born in the United States to Spanish or Vietnamese speaking parents. Others were born in another country and immigrated to the United States. One thing that all of my students have in common is their zest for learning. They are so wonderful in that they don't see the differences between each other.
My Project
My students love to annotate their work and make it colorful. Currently, they use crayons but with colored pencils and twistable crayons, their work will pop and look more professional. The pencil cases will provide a great place to keep these supplies. The pencil sharpeners are necessary as the students will need to sharpen these pencils more often to keep the points sharp.
Third graders are very creative and proud of their work.
These colored pencils and supplies will bring a new medium to enhance their work. As a class, we are working on a science unit about weather and climate regions. The maps need coloring. Pencils make the work look more professional and less like elementary school. My students take pride in their work and love being able to show others.
