My Project

Climbing, balancing, and developing the strength and coordination to move through the environment is how some children with special needs learn to manage their bodies. Physically developed children develop classroom-ready skills such as being able to sit upright on the floor, maintain balance in a desk chair, develop social and language skills, object control and locomotor skills, and become risk-taking learners.

My little monsters are eager to put on the giant foam "monster feet" and figure out how to move their bodies.

They will move like clowns as they walk on short stilts during our next carnival-themed unit! Our cones are incredibly universal and represent a variety of different things daily for over, under, and through activities as well as for organizational purposes, and obstacle course components. The development of eye-hand coordination, left/right discrimination, and motor planning will be enhanced through scarf play, striking implements, and easy catch balls.
