Keep Us Warm!

My students need sweatshirts to keep warm in the cold New York City winter and chilly fall and spring seasons!

My Students

This year, my students are from a mix of grades! During physical education, it is their time to shine in a different way in school—through physical activity. It's a way for students to see their skills outside of the the classroom.

Many of my students are from low-income households and live in small, cramped, and crowded spaces.

There is not much green space or large safe spaces for them to run around and play in. Physical Education class gives them the chance to grow in a way they often could not outside of school. In order to get my youngest set of students up and moving, I need materials that cater to their size, growth, and development.

My Project

This project's goal is to keep my students warm! So many of my students are walking to school with ripped sweatshirts, clothing that is too small, and are coming into school shivering. Providing my students will warm fleece sweatshirts would alleviate this issue for a nice amount of my students.

It's so important to come to school ready to learn, and that's quite the task if you're busy shivering and trying to warm yourself up from the frigid New York City weather.

Teaching is not only making sure your students learn academically, but also thrive in all aspects of life! Having a new item of clothing is a luxury for many of my students. It would be such an amazing thing for them. I want them to be able to help them in this very specific, but very necessary way. Thank you so much!
