Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year my class will consist of 1st grade to 3rd grade, special needs students in a Title I school on the Lower East Side. All of my students have different levels of disabilities that need to be taught using differentiated teaching.

All of my wonderful students have the desire to learn just like their general education peers.

They try hard on a daily basis and want to do well educationally, emotionally and behaviorally. They celebrate their successes and know when they need extra support to help meet their needs.

My Project

"I'm cold!" Unfortunately, I hear this a lot during the school year. They are cold because sometimes they do not have sweaters in the classroom to keep them comfortable. The umbrellas will help the students get to school with out getting drenched in the rain. The sweatshirts will keep them warm in the classroom and going back and forth from home to school.

I will do whatever I can to keep my kids warm and fed.

The snacks will help keep the students focused knowing they will be able to take snacks home to enjoy while completing their homework. A healthy and fed child will do better in school, so let's give them what they need.
