My Students

Imagine being an elementary school student and there being no coloring, drawing, cutting, or pasting. We are trying to avoid that awful fate.

My students attend a Title 1 school with a high level of economically challenged families.

My students love to use their creative sides when completing projects to show what they know, but due to the economic background of many of my students, most of them come in without supplies such as colored pencils and scissors. They all have wonderful ideas but find it hard to showcase them using only paper and pencil.

My Project

With these basic art supplies my students will be able to show their learning in new and more creative ways. I enjoy having the students finish up a unit with a project showcasing what they have learned. My students enjoy doing the projects but it is difficult when we have such limited resources. We will be able to do many more projects and creative activities with these supplies in our classroom.

No one enjoys doing worksheets and book work all the time.

These supplies will allow my students to still show what they know, but do it in a way they enjoy and that is more applicable to the real world.
