My students need 30 packs of size D batteries to power our electric music keyboards.

My Students

Imagine the frustration my Music students may possibly face this year. In the room there are 18 music keyboards. Due to overcrowding the keyboards can not safely be plugged in. The only way my students will be able to play the music keyboards this year is if we get over 100 size D batteries!

While I teach Music at 2 elementary schools in metropolitan IL, the materials in this grant will be devoted to the school in the southern part of the city.

The students I teach are in grades Pre-K to grade 8, and at this school there is an emphasis on inclusion of the Arts. Students in grades K-8 have Music class one to two times a week for 50 minutes, depending on the schedule.

My Project

In this project I am requesting 30 packs of size D batteries. This resource will power all of the keyboards in the Music room, allowing students to resume playing the keyboards. Students in grades K-8 play the keyboards in Music class, and so every child in the school would benefit from donations to this project. When students play the keyboards they learn about Music theory, Music performance skills, they improvise, they develop listening skills, note reading skills, and they have fun!

Your donation will allow students to resume playing musical instruments which currently they are unable to play because we do not have a large number of size D batteries.
