This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Did you know that classroom rugs are only “deep cleaned” ONCE a year? Did you know they are only vacuumed ONCE a week, at best? In a post-covid environment, that is not near enough! Kids sit, stand, participate and collaborate on the classroom carpet! It’s a central point in the classroom where students can come together and do their best learning! However, it is also a place where they sit when they’re sweaty after playing hard at recess, a place where they cough and sneeze, and emit other germs! Having a Ruggable washable rug in the classroom would be a game changer for keeping germs at bay! I plan to take it home and wash it every weekend in order to keep germs out of our classroom and keep our students healthy!
