My Students

My students are an amazing group of kids. They are enthusiastic about school and embrace everything we do in class. They love reading, P.E., math, and science. Our school is a kindergarten through eighth grade school located in rural California. It serves 450 students. Our school is surrounded by forests and mountains and has daily visitors such as geese, turkeys, and deer.

Our school has a strong academic and athletic culture.

I want to maintain our strength in these areas by continuing to provide materials to enrich my students' experiences.

My Project

I am requesting yoga blocks, mat, a Zenegy ball chair and a stand up desk to keep my students moving.

Over the years I have learned that not all students learn by sitting.

Many need to stand while working. I have requested a standing desk for students who need to stand while working. Having a special place in class for this desk will allow those who need to move more often a working spot that will be out of view from the rest of the class. This will cause few disruptions for the class and will fill the needs of those who need to get up and wiggle. The chair will offer the same option of being able to move more but while being seated.

The yoga supplies will be used to teach students proper stretching and breathing techniques. Both skills help with creating a positive emotional and physical well-being.
