This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Students in my classroom are energetic and crave a nurturing, educational environment. My students love coming to school and want to make the best of their learning. They are creative, resourceful, and adaptable.

Many students come from homes that can't provide all resources needed to support at-home and in-classroom learning.

Families are energetic about providing what they can and support their scholars in so many ways to ensure they are successful. Physical supplies are needed to ensure scholar have all the resources needed to document and continue their learning journey.

My Project

Water is a critical need and very hard to access due to drinking fountains not being allowed for use due to the pandemic. We have been using plastic cups and have become creative with decorating cups and trying to make them last; yet, they just don't work as well as water bottles.

A class set of water bottles would allow students access to water on hand and prevent the waste of using plastic cups.

An organizational system- a hanging pocket chart- will allow scholars to keep their labeled water bottle in a compartment for easy retrieval. Scholars have become accustomed to stepping outside to take their mask off and drink water. This organizational system would be placed next to our door for easy access to drink water when needed.
