My Project

Early chapter books play a crucial role in a first grader's reading development through bridging a gap between picture books and novels. They help build reading stamina by encouraging children to read for longer periods, gradually increasing their ability to focus and comprehend longer texts. Chapter books help build confidence by giving readers a sense of accomplishment when they finish a book. Early chapter books help kids practice sequencing events, understanding character development, and making inferences with more complex narratives.

Exposure to new words in a meaningful context helps children build a stronger vocabulary and improve their language skills.

Most importantly, chapter books encourage a love for reading.

Chapter books have more engaging stories with relatable characters and exciting plots make reading enjoyable, fostering a lifelong habit of reading.
