Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

We serve young women who are looking to find their passion. Some of our girls may struggle with self-confidence, and all are looking to find their voice and place in the world. I strive to encourage them to fight for their beliefs everytime.

Our students come from every background and that is what makes them so unique.

Each one has something to offer, it is my job to help them realize what it is, and make them go for it.

My Project

As essential as books and other equipment may be within the classroom we know how important items that some children may not have access too are just as important.

No child should have to wonder if they have basic necessities to keep them clean and safe during their school day, soap, shampoo and feminine hygiene products shouldn't be a privilege.It is our goal to provide these and allow children to "shop" for what they may need not only now, but for the summer months to keep their confidence high.

Coming into new situations without their basic needs met makes learning and achieving new goals nearly impossible.

This project not only will provide them with basic items, but also gives us the opportunity to provide them with clean clothes. We will have a day a week that we provide each girl a chance to have clean clothing that will keep them confident each and every day.
