This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Athletics and education have a closer relationship when connected with vibrant, outgoing, inquisitive students. Our students strive to meet STEAM and STEM curriculum that will enhance their future. We push to engage students in hands-on STEM learning outside the classroom. Our students are eager, energetic and very hard working. Our programs help them learn skills and talents through goal-setting and determination. Our students live in an area where we have seventy percent receiving free or reduced-price lunch due to living under the poverty level.
In addition to our economically disadvantaged population, we serve a large group of military students and a vast array of ethnic backgrounds.
This melting pot of stellar students transforms our school into a warm close-knit community. We have the greatest students; they are simply looking for amazing opportunities.
My Project
Our team truly loves stepping onto any softball field and having fun. Some of our female athletes have been playing together since t-ball. I would like to get them enhanced protective batting helmets with a mask to reduce injuries during practice and games. The current helmets we have are worn out and masks constantly need to be re-tightened. The helmets we use are about eight years old now and desperately need to be replaced.
Our female athletes deserve these helmets for their safety and love of the game.
It is refreshing to see how much energy they have during practice and at their games. Our school serves military families and economically disadvantaged students. These helmets would greatly make a difference in their lives. Thank You for your consideration in our request.
