My Students
My second graders come from all over the world. They each bring their own unique talents and experiences to the classroom, and are incredibly excited about learning.
They are full of energy and enthusiasm!
They are passionate and love learning! As we read stories they are constantly examining the illustrations and making observations that they are eager to share with one another. They are always asking questions, wondering why things work the way they do, or how things come about. They love working together with one another, and encouraging each other to become leaders!
My Project
Many of my students are full of energy and excitement! They are constantly moving around in their seats, and I do my best to keep them up and moving. But some of my students still seem to struggle with the wiggles. Having Bouncy Bands on each of their chairs will enable my students to be able to get their wiggles out while sitting at their seat and focusing on their work!
Additionally, many of my students struggle to control their emotions.
They get upset and frustrated. Currently we are working through ways for my students to appropriately express their anger and frustration in order for our classroom to be more peaceful. My little leaders know that yelling out loud disturbs our class peace, and kids have proposed stomping in order to keep the materials on our desk, and our other classmates safe. However, while stomping out our frustrations is slightly more peaceful, it can still be disruptive. After talking through it as a class community, we realized that if we had a way to move our bodies as if we were stomping, but remained quiet, we would have a good outlet for our frustration. That's where our Bouncy Bands come in! Having Bouncy Bands on chairs will allow students to bounce out their anger and frustration, maintain a peaceful classroom and get right back to work!
Having Bouncy Bands will satisfy some of the diverse needs that my students have and will allow them live an active lifestyle while focusing on their learning!
