Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students love learning and being part of our school community. We created a safe, nuturing enviornment for our learners who require the support of free meals and academic interventions to support various learning needs. Our dedicated school staff worked tiressly to provide our students and their families with the technology required for remote learning. The learning has continued with endless support from our families.
We want our students' dedication to learning to continue throught the summer to ensure they are prepared for September.
Our students need support and resources since our school is located in the poorest congressional district in the country and 99% of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch, 20% of our students are students with disabilities and 14% are English Language Learners.
My Project
Our students will maintain their math and reading skills this summer with the Daily Activities Worksbooks and Sight Word readers.
The workbooks have daily lessons that correspond to teacher videos we made during this remote learning time.
We will link workbook pages to our videos to reinforce skill development. Also, we have been working on our sight words, making our way to learning the first 100 Dolch sight words.
As our students continue their learning throughout the summer, they will have access to more practice and skill development thanks to these resources. In September, our students will have the foundational skills to enter the next grade.
