My Project
It's hard to find things to motivate students to remain engaged, especially when you're in the "test prep" part of the year. On a daily basis, I see one common motivator for my students: snacks.
Having a popcorn machine in my class to reward students who remain engaged and focused could be the game changer.
When students are in a slump, it's hard to see that grades, individual conferences, or even parent conferences have much effect. When students can see that reward in front of them in a fun and delicious way, I hope it will boost engagement in our activities and thus improve student performance as well!
Popcorn is a low-calorie treat that few people are allergic to, and it's an inexpensive way to reward students with a small incentive to work diligently. Thank you for your consideration for this project that will appeal to their senses in so many ways!
