My Project

This assortment of snacks will be stored in my classroom and given out as learning and attendance incentives as well as for students who often do not eat breakfast and/or lunch during the entire school day. It is common for our students, even some I do not teach, to visit my classroom and ask for food, as the school lunches that are provided have the reputation of being "jail food." Due to this, some do not even eat for most of the day. One-hundred percent of our students receive free lunch, so school is one place where they should be guaranteed at least one decent meal, or at the bare minimum, some snacks to keep them going. I would like to stock up on a variety of treats to always have on hand for any student in our building who needs an extra energy boost or just something small to make them smile. I have found that food has always been a motivating and comforting resource that we often take for granted.
