My Students

I teach at a STEM middle school, a program where everything is cross-curricular. Students direct their own learning and find their own answers. We solve real world problems and use critical thinking. Students direct their own learning and find their own answers. Walk into our classroom and you'll step over students' stability balls and stools for seating to watch filming at our multiple green screens.

Providing them with more resources to do this will only empower them to become better filmmakers and better learners.

My Project

Students learn by moving and collaborating. To support students, kinesthetic additions to the classroom including wiggle seats, bouncy bands, and stability balls will help students to stay engaged as they grow and feel the need to be active.

Kinesthetic learning environments allow students to stay in motion while being academically engaged.

This environment helps to motivate students to stay on task, collaborate with peer colleagues, and work towards academic goals. Students feel as though the environment is created for them, not like they are being forced to fit into an "adult" world. Students use their energy positively and happily contribute to class success.
