Help me give my students high-interest, contemporary books to read and discuss during social quarantine, the summer and next school year.

My Students
My students are avid readers who normally spend class time using books as tools for continued growth in fluency and comprehension, as well as for learning content through fiction and non-fiction literature. While distance learning still allows students to contribute to group discussions, the closure of school and public libraries prevents students from accessing this key ingredient for learning.
Keeping students engaged through high-interest literature is essential to maintaining growth in literacy during the coronavirus pandemic.
We must listen to our students, and they want challenging books with thoughtful themes and dynamic characters.
My Project
In our classrooms, we've worked hard to develop quality literature discussion groups with students. We use small-group discussion and partnership to teach literacy skills and techniques for thinking about, responding to, and listening to ideas others have about the text. Online platforms allow students a format for discussion--now let's give them materials to discuss.
By offering pick-up and drop-off options for students to obtain books during distance learning and the summer, I plan to continue providing challenging and engaging literature, as well as opportunities for students to develop and share their thinking in online group discussions.
