This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a middle school band teacher in an inner-city school and I teach students from sixth to eighth grade. Most of my students come from a low socioeconomic background.
I have been working over the past year to get instruments for my school.
We are in need of a marching bass drum. Currently, I have students sharing drums, and this makes it difficult when taking instruments home to practice. I want to give my students the best musical experience possible, and keep them focused on developing their musical skills. The addition of a good working marching bass drum to the inventory will complete the drumline section.
Your donation will get another inner city student making music.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
