My Students
I have 23 amazing first graders this year! They are a diverse, creative, and witty group of kids, and I'm so excited that I get to help them learn and grow, even though distance learning comes with its challenges.
Despite the fact that we are on Zoom, my students are consistently enthusiastic about showing up and learning, and they all work to care for each other and have a positive class community.
My Project
One of the hardest parts about teaching 1st graders over Zoom is make sure they are engaged and having fun! We are using great curriculums, but it really helps to have a variety of activities to mix things up and keep them excited.
In the busyness of distance learning, buying resources on Teachers Pay Teachers is a great way for me to provide creative activities to students to help them stay engaged in learning at home.
So many educators have created high quality resources that I can purchase and use instead of spending hours of extra time creating new digital activities. I plan to buy things like math challenges, whole class activities, and resources for small group instruction, including my English learner small group.
