All children start their school careers with sparkling imaginations, fertile minds, and a willingness to take risks with what they think. Let's give these students a program that allows them to think outside of the traditional classroom.
My second grade students are ages 8-10 years-old and like most kids, they love learning through doing.
We are a charter school in the heart of El Cajon California and the need for more project-based and STEAM teaching materials for our students to learn how to critically think and solve problems is a big part of what we are trying to develop for our students.
My Project
One of the critical components of our school's charter is to foster literacy across our curriculum: Math, Language Arts and Technology. As the technology teacher, I have the privilege of introducing students to Internet Safety, Keyboarding, Google Docs, Google Slides, Coding and even a Genius Hour project. Additionally, our core subjects use this technology in Reading, Writing, Math and test taking, many of which require drag and drop activities.
Our students have access to one Chromebook for every two students, and at the Second Grade level, these tracking pads are well loved.
Many times, the tracking pad loose their ability to track.
Having access to wireless computer mice will allow students to make efficient use of their time, and would reduce classroom frustrations. Wireless mice will prevent students and myself from tripping over the wires. Class time is precious and these Logitech wireless mice are a great answer to a huge classroom frustration.
