Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have wonderful students who enjoy learning and exploring their environment, and like all children, they need to express their emotions and needs assertively.
To support them in that process, we have decided to improve their calm corner.
These materials would help us enormously.
The weighted stuffed animals are an excellent resource for children with neurodiversity, and my classroom has three of them. In addition, the books and other materials can help other children understand their own needs and those of their classmates, fostering a climate of empathy, calm, and better interpersonal relationships with their classmates and teachers.
Each requested material was consciously chosen to help us fulfill the goal of ensuring that calm is not a boring moment for the children, but rather facilitates introspection, self-knowledge, and self-esteem.
