Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are a Title I school, meaning majority of our students are coming from a low Socio-Economic Status and receive Free or Reduced Lunch. We have over 900 students at our school. Some of our students are new to the country and might not have ever been in a school setting and for some it could be their first time being exposed to a playground. As much as being in the classroom and learning is important so his staying healthy and being physically fit.
Children need to have time to run and play as well.
They need to exercise the bodies as well as their minds. Teachers can provide them the break through taking the children to the playground. The children love and want to learn but are still kids and need time to have fun too.
My Project
The students will be able to play in the playground more comfortably and truly enjoy their recess time. Many students do not like to play outside because it is so hot. Students need the time to run and play and relax.
The teacher can use the equipment to teach different fine motor skills with their students.
The primary elementary students will be able to enjoy the outdoors. The can use the equipment to play sports games and learn to catch and throw a ball. Many students have trouble with fine motor skills and need help develop those skills. The South Florida sun can be very harsh on the skin.
