More than half of my students are on an Individualized Education Plan, but we do not let our diagnosis define us. We overcome challenges together and appreciate the uniqueness in every person. In all areas, it is our goal to gear up for success. Students learn goal setting, evaluating their own success, assessing their personal growth, and learning and reflecting on objectives and how to make new goals. Students are set up for success not only in the classroom but for life.
My students are engaged in STEM to master state standards, build social skills, and build awareness of careers.
My Project
During these uncertain times students need help with their emotions and showing empathy to others. In Zoom or face-to-face students will listen and respond to books about empathy, inclusion, and emotions. "Breathe Like Bear", "I'm a Wonder", and Rainbow Fish" are just a few books that students will have access to as they identify their emotions and apply ways to show empathy to others.
More than ever students need books that will help them identify emotions, promote diversity, and show empathy to others.
With your generous support students will have two books every month that promotes self-esteem, emotions, and empathy.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
