Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The majority of my students hail from working-class immigrant families. Circumstances, whether financial, political, or social, usually prevent them from obtaining the maximum quality education that they deserve.
Many aspire to go to college and make their parents proud and we strive to help them achieve their goal of not only attending college but to be lifelong learners that give back to their community.
I have seen so many of my students graduate and go off to college and make their families and teachers proud and I am so proud that I've been a part of their journey.
My Project
In so many cases, my students can't afford the materials and supplies that they need to thrive and maximize their education because their families can't pay for it. We offer a limited amount of AP classes and our school, so what is available for our kids is something they value. Many classes use outdated textbooks and review materials because we it was not feasible in the budget.
These AP review books will allow my students to finally have a brand new textbook to use for the first time, while they continue their dream of going to a four year college/university.
Education is the most powerful weapon in which you can use to change the world, and our students deserve a chance at the complete education.
