My Students

I have a wonderful group of 4-year-old and 5-year-old students in my class. This is my first year teaching a TK/ Kinder combination class. I love the smiles they bring to our distant learning zoom classes every day! Most of my students are learning English as a second language, making their first year in school a little more challenging. All of my students qualify for free breakfast and lunch and Second Harvest Food Bank comes to our school each month to bring healthy fruits and vegetables to them.

My Project

My students need some items to stay calm so they can focus on learning. If this project is funded, each child will receive a a happy face stress ball and a chapstick. Some students have very chapped lips and they don't like it when they caregiver wants to put something on them. I have selected many different flavors of chapstick that they can choose from. Giving them this choice will make all of the difference. I am also requesting some calming items for our classroom. I found some florescent light covers that will filter that strong light creating a soothing atmosphere that will really help my autistic students. In addition to the covers, I found some Liquid Motion Bubbler that will help calm anxious feelings. These items will help ease the fears and worries by creating a peaceful classroom climate. Please help bring peace and calm to our classroom. Thank you!
