This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a Title I school in Goose Creek implementing the Leader In Me program. Our students are able to join a club to be a part of to build community in our school. I have the honor of instructing K-5 graders in a fitness club. These students are passionate and excited about learning how to be fit and maintain healthy habits. They motivate and encourage each other to do their best and implement leadership qualities as they engage with students of different age levels and abilities.

My Project

The workouts mats will help my students learn how to exercise properly, workout more effectively and not restrain them from certain exercises. We'll be able to lay these down on the concrete so that it will be more comfortable for our K-5 students as they do a variety of workouts such as ab exercises, planks, pushups etc. We'll also be able to use these on the grass when it's wet and isn't exactly ideal to workout on. The kids will each be able to use a mat to workout next to their fitness buddy as they push each other to do their best.
