This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are passionate advocates for our Earth! They are curious about the world around them and global citizens who are catalysts for positive change!
My students know that it is cool to care and want to give back to our community by composting breakfast/lunch waste in a compost tumbler to be used in our outdoor garden beds.
Students will gather waste from breakfast/lunch using the smaller buckets and deposit the waste in the compost tumbler. As part of outdoor classroom, they will regularly turn the soil that will be used in our school garden beds to grow fruits, vegetables, and herbs!
They also want to do their part and recycle the bottles and cans that commonly end up on the ground, in landfills, and our oceans. Together, we can and will make a difference!
