My Project

As a school counselor, I have been working with an increasing number of students who are experiencing anxiety throughout the school day. I encourage these students to check in with me to to learn and practice strategies for dealing with these feelings. My goal is to support my students, helping them to feel supported and more calm so that they feel safe and can, better access their education.

One of the strategies that I use with students is an app on my phone for breathing, meditation and light music.

It would be great to have a speaker to play these sounds on. In addition to this, I would like to add coloring pages, journal supplies, and various fidget tools for students to use when in my room. I have noticed that many of my students feel calm when they are doodling or coloring and are better able to settle and identify/talk about their feelings.

I would be very excited to add these supplies to my office! I know my students would be too!
