My Students

With the situation of our world today, I want to be able to help my students prepare for a future where they believe in themselves, no matter who or where they are.

We are a Title I School in the Los Angeles Unified School District. Most of the students at my school are English Language Learners and 100% of the students participate in the free breakfast and lunch program.

My kindergartners are very enthusiastic and eager to learn. For most of them, kindergarten is their first school experience. I teach a class of 20 little learners with many different ability levels. My students need exposure to the same concepts in different ways. My students are motivated to learn but lack the needed materials at home to fully understand or actively participate in my lessons. Many of their parents are not able to provide the academic materials that they need due to loss of employment because of the pandemic. Although my students are considered socio-economically disadvantaged, they deserve the same opportunities to enhance their learning as anyone else.

My Project

This has been an excruciating year for my students. Not only have they been forced to learn virtually, many of them have seen family members get sick or die from COVID-19. Although some of them have returned to the classroom for in-person learning, the classrooms DO NOT have plexiglass dividers for protection.

I'm asking you to please support my project so that I can purify the classroom air and keep my students safe from potential diseases.

The air purifier will help to provide my students with a virus-free classroom and they will be able to keep their hands germ-free with individual hand sanitizers.

Due to budget cuts, I am asking for spiral notebooks so that my kids can have a writing journal to document their learning and experiences.
