Help me give my students an enriched art experience! Sharpie markers will allow them to create amazing reflective art on foil. Rolling tools and a rolling pin will give the opportunity to build with clay slabs and texturize.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My art students are curious little explorers from a vibrant neighborhood. We're just a stone's throw from Dallas's Bishop Arts District, the perfect setting for a great art program. They're flexing their wings and working to build skills that will make them lifelong, independent learners, creative thinkers, and confident problem solvers. The Art Room is a wonderful place to develop those skills as well as perseverance and self-control. They have the ambition and curiosity, now they just need the tools for the journey.
My Project
An assortment of Sharpie markers will open the door for kids to explore creating foil art. We will learn the history behind sparkling icon art and repoussé, two forms of artistic metal work. We will also be able to create faux stained glass.
Rolling clay tools and texturizers will bring new life to the children's clay work.
We can create slab pieces like standing cityscapes and boxes. Three-dimensional work enhances a child's spatial reasoning and problem-solving skills.
Metalic silver and gold tempera paint will inspire the study of Gustav Klimt's glittering tree of life and ancient Egyptian art as well.
