it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
About My Students
MR. TIM'S PROJECT
The incredible growth we see in our students. Our student body consistently
My students have a passion for creating unique pieces of art that they can share with friends and family. The idea for this project came from these students wanting to tell their "Disney Story" when we return from our class field trip to Disneyland. The students asked to create an art project that is unique to their individual experiences from the field trip. The students will have access to a variety of arts and crafts supplies and will create their artwork with the assistance of their general education peers.
Students in my class will be working on skills that prepare them for post-secondary employment such as cutting, writing, and following directions as they create their art. Students will also have the opportunity to build their capacity for teamwork and problem-solving when they are brainstorming with their peers about what they want to include in their "Disney Story."
Our senior council is planning a series of fundraisers to help them pay for senior trip, awards dinner, and other activities. They are bursting with artistic potential just waiting to break out, but a lack of a music program prevents them from realizing their potential. Karaoke is a great way for them to get started. In addition, organizing fundraisers is a great way for our seniors to develop leadership skills, and they have identified karaoke as a great way to encourage people to attend their after school dance parties. What they need is a little assistance so they can realize their goals.
In Their Own Words
“Claremont Is one of the very few schools that actually support the students individualism. My favorite thing about Claremont is that we are surrounded by music, art and is very united. We all come from different countries and cultures, and I think that's the best part of this school. The students love to show their talents and throw art, and music whether it's singing or dancing the students here get the chance to find the artistic side of them. If only we could gain enough money to get a karaoke machine.
By helping our seniors to get a karaoke machine, we will learn how to get students involved in planning events to help themselves. We will get good experience in setting our goals and working hard to complete them. Finally, we learn how we can raise funds using social media avenues.
I think it will be the best gift ever, we would use it to make little concert and activities for found rising for our senior year, the students will get the chance to perform and also fundraise for our graduation and prom to help those who need it the most from our school, we really need in order to all of us have enough to graduated together.”
