Moderate to severe Resource room students are eager to bring back the recycling program to the Elementary building all while learning life skills.
Students will create checklists for the teachers that need recycling picked up, and mark their name off once the collection bin has been picked up. Students will be wearing yellow vests that represent the “recycling club” which will make them feel special and part of the community. At the end of the day students will bring the recycled paper to the outside recycling bin. This program establishes life long memories that help special education students learn to be a successful part of their community. It gives them ownership, confidence, and teaches them hands on life skills.
We are asking for plastic bins, since our homemade cardboard ones are falling apart. We want to keep this recycling program alive in the school forever. With your help in purchasing the blue recycling containers, can keep this special education program running until the end of time. Please help us make this program successful by allowing us to look professional, and by using sturdy tools while working.
