My Students

As the school STEAM specialist, I want to ensure that every student at our school falls in love with science. I currently have 350 students and the majority of these children are emergent bilinguals developing English as a second language.

These STEAM resources would support the entire school, encouraging students at every grade level to engage with science.

They work so hard every single day, and a comfortable environment is critical for learning. I would love to update our classroom materials, to ensure they are getting the most from their STEAM experience at school!

My Project

As the STEAM teacher at our elementary school, I work with over 300 students in supporting hands-on, inquire based science education. Students will use the lab kits to explore different NGSS STEAM concepts, and use the clay to build models of what they observe. The NGSS Standard aligned books will also play a valuable role for younger learners, allowing vivid read-alouds to help the students connect science concepts to the phenomena they observe in the classroom. Coming back to school in the fall, I want to ensure every child feels excited to engage with science again!

The science kits, modeling clay, and NGSS books in this project will help foster a deep excitement for STEAM at every grade level.

Aligned with NGSS, the books in this project will help connect experiments and phenomenon that the students observe to the NGSS standards. I want to ensure that every child learns that science is so much more than facts, but rather a system and a way of exploring the world. Your support would mean the world to our school!
