My Students
My scholars at 122 are hardworking, creative, and determined to learn and engage in the world around them. When given the opportunity to discover, explore and create they will, and they will do it wholeheartedly. As their visual art teacher, I admire their strength to put forth their best effort regardless of the challenging forces that prevent them in doing so.
Providing my students at 122 with the supplies they need is not only important to me but important to my students as well.
Giving scholars this opportunity to explore and discover is vitally important because it helps them understand and acknowledge how embracing a visual arts curriculum which integrates reading, writing, and various materials can help build stronger and more confident students.
My Project
The items that I have selected for my scholars will allow them the opportunity to explore various materials all while combining literacy, and creative thinking skills. These materials are essential tools in child development that help in building motor skills, literacy skills, math concepts, creativity, self-esteem, and cooperation. Art drive students to be creative and have fun. However, it is tough receiving the supplies our scholars need when art isn't considered a priority and lack of school funding exist. This project will bring light to the general classroom and supply all students with access to drawing paper, textured materials, 3-D collages, and pattern blocks.
