My Students

My students LOVE to read!! Unfortunately, the selection of non-fiction materials is limited in my room. Having interesting books available to them opens up a whole new world for these special, curious learners!

My students are enthusiastic learners and would read books all day if our schedule would allow!

They love to explore and learn about new topics. They love to read parts of books they are reading to other students and share the authors and stories that interest them. Our school is located in a small, rural city with a high percentage of students receiving free/reduced lunch.

My Project

Everyday, we have 15-20 minutes set aside for quiet reading.When it's time, they grab their books and find a spot on the floor somewhere! They are engrossed in reading-- I know that my students would enjoy reading these e-books during that time. They love books about "real things". This will give them another option for reading non-fiction books.

Funding of this project will give my students more non-fiction books to read.

Having them as e-books is an extra bonus! How excited they will be when they can read a book electronically!
