My Students
I serve first-grade students who live in the heart of the Appalachian mountains of Eastern Kentucky. There is an equal mix of girls and boys. They are fun-loving, bright, energetic, and extremely eager learners. They each absorb information like a sponge. They love learning.
They are at a very critical time in their life, the beginning stage of reading and writing.
Their focus should be on learning, rather than what they don't have or what they need to be successful in school.
My Project
The materials I am requesting include pencils, crayons, glue, markers, and tape. These materials will be used in the everyday learning process to include grammar and writing activities, labeling their books and other belongings, and completing cutting and pasting activities.
These materials will make such a difference in the students' learning.
They should not have to worry about having a pencil or crayons to complete classroom activities. This is why the materials will be placed in a shared organizer to be used as need.
