My students need 70 guided reading books at 7 different reading levels so that they can each read at their own just 'right' level.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. McNeill's classroom raised $464

My Students
Goldilocks knew what she was talking about--we all need things that are "just right" for us. Each one of my students with autism needs access to multiple books at his or her specific reading level, even if it varies from that of other students in the class.
All of my students have autism and significant academic challenges.
However, by meeting each one where they are, they make incredible progress and surprise me every day. Our school is in a high poverty area and each student has individual difficulties in their life on top of the challenge of autism. My students thrive when learning is presented in interesting, hands-on ways, and especially when it is at that "just right" level--not too hard, not too easy.
My Project
With a leveled library, I will be able to offer true guided reading groups to my students, where they can read a book with a teacher, complete activities related to it, and then confidently read and understand it independently. We won't have to try and "fit" students to books that aren't appropriate for them, and we will have a selection of 10 books at each different level to ensure student interest and practice with varied subjects.
Your donations will support these special students, who each deserve a chance to learn in the way that is just right for them and their needs.
We cannot thank you enough for helping us to continue building our classroom!
