I teach fifth grade in a Talented and Gifted school, which is in a high needs community in New York City.
Our classroom has a printer that constantly gets jammed. Currently, there is a jam in the printer which is not letting us print any of our assignments! That is the only printer that we have access to in our classroom.
This laser printer will enable my students who do not all have access to a computer at home, to print out any work that they complete in class!
You will make it possible for my students to be able to come to my classroom, work on the computer, and print out any assignments that they have. As we try to keep up with the age of technology, this printer is essential for the students in my classroom. Since we will begin our unit on Persuasive essay writing, we will need to type our drafts of writing on the computer and be able to print it out.
We will also peer edit each others work, and being able to edit our saved essays and having the ability to print them is much easier than handwriting all of our writing. (Especially when it comes to the revision process) Your help will ensure that my students are fully following the writing process by typing and not getting held back because they must hand write everything!
