This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a wide range of backgrounds. Eighty-five percent of the students in my school receive free or reduced-price lunch. All love to learn and middle school students love to read!

I love when they come into the library looking for new titles.

I am also very proud of each and everyone of them. I want to make sure they are living their best life and are happy. Happiness is what counts and is key to a great future.

I am very fortunate to work with wonderful students every day.

My Project

Due to the pandemic, many of our books have been lost in the shuffle. Unreturned, lost, or left behind. 2020 has primed our youth to see injustice and perhaps be more aware and empathetic than ever before. You are buying Just Mercy for them.

Now, more than at any other time in history, we need to keep the conversation going.

Conversations about equity must be at the forefront of our classrooms. Until we are hearing all voices and giving them equal value, we will not make real change. Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson keeps the conversation going.
