My Project
Our students are developing their understanding of the proper way to interact with others as they begin school. Most of our students come from low socio-economic families or are early English Language Learners. Having activities and manipulatives that support that learning is critical to creating a firm foundation for their educational as well as social futures.
Our students are developing strong social/emotional skills and helping them make that connection, utilizing manipulatives that remind them of home, is critical.
Play based activities are a great way for students to begin to understand acceptable ways to interact with others. This includes school as well as home. The use of babies and accessories helps them to develop some of those emotional skills. The use of doll house furniture would bring our current dollhouse to life and help develop social understanding! They love to role play using our current supplies however most of them are damaged or missing pieces. We would love for them to have a good set to use in role playing with others.
First and foremost we want to give all students a chance to develop strong social and emotional skills to help support them in the future. We ask for your support of our students.
